The Concept
Petaluma’s strong Sonoma County maker culture is evoked with brushstroke fonts and whimsical flourishes. To encourage longer overnight stays, we highlight Petaluma as the perfect homebase for day trips around Northern California in the “All Roads Lead to Petaluma” feature. Interviews with local makers bring personality to the guide, and share the deep ties that creatives have to this bucolic region.
The Numbers
We translated print ads into content that appeared on Visit Petaluma’s social channels as giveaways. This provided huge jumps in engagement and follower count for both advertisers and Visit Petaluma. Moreover, to obtain their prize, winners we encouraged to come to the visitors center, further strengthening the DMO’s relationship with their community. Win-win!
